I just wanted to apologize for not getting the words up for 2nd grade spelling on Spelling City or posting the digital copies of the pages sent home yesterday. I had a case of "the Mondays" and it totally slipped my mind. The spelling list for 2nd grade and the documents are now posted (including today's Newsletter)!
We've been working on an Ocean unit in Science, and today we kicked off a portion on the Great Barrier Reef. We discussed what a reef is, animals that live there, and began working on a reef project. We actually have two reef projects going on! We started the other project in Art yesterday, and we'll continue in class later this week. Look for some Ocean/Reef-themed projects displayed in the building...I still need to see where a good location would be. Once I know where it will be, I'll post the location here so you can find their work displayed in the building! Any discussions or activities you can do at home will be helpful to reinforce the concepts we're discussing. Talking about coral, reefs, symbiotic relationships, or even just ocean animals will help students to retain the information. Friday's field trip will help, too! Hopefully we'll get to see a few of the animals we've discussed in class. :)
Please let me know if there are any ways I can make this website more useful to you. I want this to be a great tool for you at home, but I can only do that with your help. If there's something you'd like to see included, let me know so I can add it! :)
God Bless,
Miss Wilson
